Other Activities

5th-9th - Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta
Up to 50 ships berthed along the Thames and shore-side activities including maritime markets, street theatre music, dance and art installations make this a great event for photographers.

6th-7th - Medieval Falconry Dover Castle
Gaze skywards and in awe as hawks, owls and falcons soar above the castle. Discover the art of training, exercising and hunting with birds and hear the stories and legends from medieval times.

6th-7th - Medieval Merriment Rochester Castle
Come and see the castle in all its medieval glory, with a weekend of historic activities, including; a Medieval fashion show, re-enactors, cooking displays, have-a-go archery, period stalls and traders, living history.

7th - Camel and Pig Racing Day at Hole Park
Hole Park will be the setting for a colourful fundraising event on Sunday 7th September 2014 when Camel and Pig Racing - plus Mongolian wrestling, singing and dancing return to the park after a 2 year break.

13th - Will Adams Festival
Experience a mix of Japanese culture and traditions and Tudor life at the time of Will Adams, the English Samurai.

13th-14th Hop Pickers Weekend Bodium Station
Visitors to Bodium Station can enjoy a whole weekend of hopping nostalgia at the Kent and East Sussex Railway's annual Hop Pickers weekend. Over the weekend former hop pickers re live memories and there will be the opportunity to try your hand at the testing skill of hop stripping.

13th-14th - Southern Model Show Headcorn Aerodrome
Aircraft, cars, trucks, boats and tanks will be the stars of the show at the Southern Model Show – an event that will appeal to both expert and novice alike.

20th - Great Gorilla Run
Hundreds of people dressed as gorillas will run, jog or walk 8km though the City of London in the 11th annual Great Gorilla Run to help save a species on the edge of extinction.

20th-21st - Salute To The 40's Chatham Dockyard
Be transported back in time! Around every corner period vehicles, evacuees and people dressed in their best 1940's attire bring the site alive creating a truly vintage atmosphere. With dance troops and the best of 1940's entertainers, this is one of the finest of its kind in the country.

20th-21st - Open House London
our opportunity to get out and get under the skin of the amazing architecture in every London neighbourhood. On the 20th and 21st September there will be over 800 buildings, neighbourhood walks, architects' talks, and much more - enjoy your weekend!

23rd-28th - Festival Of Flowers Leeds Castle
This popular floral event returns to the castle this autumn. See the castle's State roomstransformed into works of art using flowers by local florists, flower societies and clubs.

27th-28th - Fort In The Forties Fort Gardens Gravesend
Come along to The Fort in the Forties event at New Tavern Fort, Gravesend. Visitors will be able to view military and vintage vehicles alongside living history displays including children dressed as evacuees and well-dressed spivs in their finest hats and spats.
